Map as situation overview
The Hantavirus map is designed as a situation overview. For Germany, the display is based on RKI reporting status by district or urban district. National reporting statuses outside Germany are also visible through dedicated country pages.
Map points are deliberately coarse. They provide regional orientation and do not replace official authority maps with local case collection.
Data scopes instead of mixed totals
Hanta-Map keeps data scopes visible and separate. This prevents an RKI reporting status, an international reference report and a ship event from appearing as one combined total.
- Germany: RKI reporting status
- Europe: national country pages for official authority figures
- Map markers: coarse regional context
- Source monitor: status of official data sources
- Reporting delays possible: data may change later
Frequently asked questions
Does the map show exact case locations?
No. The Germany map shows reported areas at district or urban-district level. It does not show individual addresses or exact infection locations.
Why are there different map scopes?
Germany, international reports and special events are handled separately so reporting statuses are not mixed into one total.
Hanta-Map is an information and research tool for publicly available reported data. It does not replace medical advice or official authority information.
